# Customer Payments (Stripe, offline payments, fees)

Customer Payments is where you decide how you get paid. Open the **settings cog → Billing & Payments → Customer Payments**.

### Choose how you accept payments

#### Stripe (recommended)

* Customers can pay online
* Invoice statuses are maintained automatically

#### Offline / Check Payment (no Stripe)

* You collect payment outside Shortcut (check/cash/ACH)
* You must mark invoices as paid in [Finances](https://shortcutco.com/invoices) to stop reminders

### Connect Stripe

* Open **Customer Payments** (settings cog → Billing & Payments).
* Click **Connect Stripe**.
* Complete Stripe setup and business verification.
* Return to Shortcut and confirm Stripe is connected.

### Processing fee (optional)

You can add a fee to invoices as:

* a percentage, or
* a flat dollar amount.

Example: add a 3% processing fee to offset card processing costs.
