# AI-powered Dispatch features

Dispatch includes AI tools that help you plan smarter and faster. These are available from the Dispatch page. [Open Dispatch →](https://shortcutco.com/dispatch)

## AI capabilities

### Estimate Duration

AI estimates how long a job will take (in minutes) based on the services, property size, and historical data.

**When to use:** You're planning the day and want realistic time blocks for each stop.

### Suggest Placement

AI recommends the optimal position for a job in the day's schedule, considering drive time and existing assignments.

**When to use:** You've just added a new job and want to know where it fits best.

### Fix Schedule

AI identifies scheduling problems (overlapping jobs, impossible drive times, gaps) and suggests fixes.

**When to use:** Something feels off about the day's plan and you want a second opinion.

### Balance Crews

AI redistributes jobs across teams so no single crew is overloaded while another is light.

**When to use:** One crew has 12 jobs and another has 4 — let AI even things out.

### Health Insights

AI flags dispatch health risks and assigns severity levels (low, med, high). Examples: a crew with too many jobs, a job with no assigned team, or unrealistic drive times.

**When to use:** Before committing to a day's plan, run health insights to catch issues.

### Natural Language Commands

Type instructions in plain English and Dispatch will interpret them. Examples:

* "Move the Johnson job to the afternoon"
* "Swap crews A and B for tomorrow"
* "Reschedule the 3pm job to next Tuesday"

**When to use:** You want to make quick changes without clicking through menus.
