# Crew ownership (recurring jobs)
Give each recurring job a home crew so visits come pre-assigned every time.
If you run more than one crew, every recurring job can have an **owner crew**. New visits are assigned to the owner automatically, so you're not re-assigning the same customers in Dispatch week after week.

## Setting the owner
* **When you schedule** a recurring job (one job, or several at once from the Jobs page), the scheduling window has an **Assign to crew** option. Pick one, or leave it unowned and decide later.
* **From a stop in Dispatch**, open the stop, click **Reassign Crew**, choose **This and future visits**, and pick the crew. That crew now owns the job.
* **Right after a move**, click **Keep future visits with \[crew]** on the pill that appears when you move stops with the toolbar's **Crew** button or drag them into another lane. * **From a moved visit**, open it and click **Keep with \[crew]** on the amber banner (see below).
## One-off exceptions
Moving a single visit to another crew (by dragging it, clicking the crew chip, or choosing **This visit only**) doesn't change the owner. The visit shows a small amber arrows icon beside the customer name in Dispatch, with the tooltip *"Moved from Crew A for this visit only."* Next visit goes back to the owner as normal.
If you open that stop, a banner says **Moved from Crew A** with a **Keep with Crew B** button in case you'd like the move to be permanent after all.

## Finding jobs without an owner
On the [Jobs](https://shortcutco.com/jobs) page, the **Crew filter** has a **No owner** option: your to-do list of recurring jobs that still need a home. Imported jobs start unowned. Their visits land in Dispatch's **Unassigned** lane until you give them a crew.

## Deleting a team
If you delete a team that owns jobs, Shortcut asks **which crew should take over** before the deletion goes through (**Reassign owned jobs to**). You can also choose **Leave unowned**, in which case those visits go to the Unassigned lane in Dispatch for you to hand out. Completed history stays exactly as it was.
