# Route map

See the day's routes on a map, follow one crew at a time, draw an area to filter the board, and keep the map and the table pointed at the same stop.

Click **Map** in the Dispatch header. A map band opens under the table showing every crew's run for the day you're looking at, in that crew's colour, in driving order. Your yard (the route start and end address from [Scheduling & jobs](/readme/configuration/settings-capacity-+-route-start-and-end.md)) is marked with a small house.

Drag the bar between the table and the map to make the map taller or shorter. **Pop out map** fills the screen with it; **Close map** puts it away.

## Reading the map

Stops are numbered discs in their crew's colour, numbered in driving order. When several stops are piled on top of each other, they collapse into a **grey count bubble** so the map stays readable. Click a bubble to zoom in on it; making the map bigger also breaks bubbles apart.

Above the map, **Unrouted** and **Unmapped** counts appear when they're not zero. **Unmapped** means Shortcut couldn't find that address on the map; those stops are on the [Needs attention](/readme/dispatch/needs-attention.md) tab as **Missing coordinates**.

Switch between **Standard** and **Satellite** with the buttons in the map header.

## Following one crew

Click a crew in the map legend to **focus** it. Its route stays bright and everyone else fades back so you can follow the run. Click **All crews** to bring everything back. Hovering any faded crew brings it forward temporarily.

## The map and the table together

* **Hover a row** in the table and its stop lights up on the map. Hover a crew's lane header and the whole route highlights.
* **Click a stop on the map** and its row is selected in the table and its details open.
* **Click a row** and the map zooms to that stop's route.

## Draw an area to filter the board

This is the fastest way to find "everyone we've got near the Johnsons":

1. Click **Lasso map stops** in the map header.
2. Drag a loop around the area on the map.
3. The table shrinks to only the stops inside the loop, and a **Map area** chip appears in the filter row.

Now you can select those rows and reassign them together, or just see which crews pass through. Click **Clear map area** (or the ✕ on the chip) to see everything again.

## Looking at more than one day

On **This week** or a custom range, a row of day pills appears above the map. Click a day to see just that day's routes (the table narrows too), or **All days** to overlay everything.

## On a phone

The map is a full-screen view, opened from the map button in the toolbar, with the same lasso filter.
