# Late fees

Shortcut can add a late fee to overdue invoices automatically.

* Set it up in **settings cog → Billing & Payments → Customer Payments** (alongside your payment terms — the due date is the send date plus your terms, 30 days unless you change it).
* When an invoice goes **Overdue**, the fee is added for each overdue cycle and the invoice total updates.
* Fees stop as soon as the invoice is paid or voided.

Late fees pair with the **Invoice Overdue** automation — make sure its message mentions your late-fee policy so customers aren't surprised.
