# Reschedule a job (just this event vs future events)

Rescheduling moves a scheduled visit to a new date — either just that one visit, or that visit and every one after it.

## When to use this

* Customer requests a new day
* Weather or access issues require moving a visit

Locate the job from the Jobs list, the customer profile, Calendar, or Dispatch.

### Choose reschedule

Click **Reschedule**.

Choose the new date in the calendar pop-up.

## Single visit vs whole series

The reschedule pop-up asks for a **Reschedule scope**:

* **Just this event** (default) — only this visit moves.
* **This and all future events** — the series shifts so future visits follow the new cadence from this date.

## From the customer profile

You can move a visit from two places on a customer's profile:

* **Upcoming** on the Overview tab — click **⋯** on the visit and choose **Reschedule…**. The **Reschedule visit** window opens.
* **Current jobs** (or the **Jobs** tab) — click **⋯** on the job and choose **Reschedule next visit…**. This moves the job's next visit. The window is headed **Schedule** and the job's name.

Either way, pick the new date and choose **This visit only** (the default) or **This and future visits**. Then click **Reschedule** (**Save** in the job's window).

If the new day is already at your daily capacity, Shortcut still moves the visit and tells you: *Rescheduled above daily capacity. This is allowed, but the day is now over capacity.*

Workers can also tap **Reschedule** in the field. That doesn't pick a date — it flags the visit back to the office as *Needs reschedule*.
