# 2) Create services (so you can quote)

**Outcome:** You can build proposals using your real offerings.

## What you’ll do

* Create 3–5 core services
* Choose the correct pricing structure for each

## Steps

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Create a service

Open the **settings cog (bottom left) → More → Catalog → Services**, then click **Create service**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Name and describe

Enter a customer-friendly **Name** (example: “Lawn mowing”).

(Optional) Add a **Description**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose pricing

Choose a **Price structure**:

* Flat fee
* Per hour
* Per sq ft (optionally with size tiers)
* Per man-hour (bill by actual crew time)

Most services fit Flat fee or Per sq ft. See [Services (pricing structures)](/readme/configuration/services-pricing-structures.md) for how tiers and man-hour billing work.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Set default rate

(Optional) Set a default **Rate**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Save

Click **Save**.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Expected result

Your service appears in the service picker when creating a proposal.

Doing chemical work? You can also create a **Chemical service** (one-time treatment) from the same window — see [Chemicals](/readme/chemical-tracking.md).

{% hint style="info" %}
Shortcut’s default:

* Adjust the quantity later on proposals (hours / sq ft / flat amount).
